That little Turkey

I'm use to Brandon throwing his sippy cups away. He's been doing that for a while. He knows he's not suppose to, but I think he thinks it's fun or something. But today I was on the phone for less than five minutes and when I turn around he has two plates in his hands. I promptly get a firm voice and say, NO Brandon, don't you dare....to which he responds by scurring as fast as he can over to the garbage to throw his plates away. That little turkey. I try to keep an eye out cuz I know he's sneaky. And I've definitely lost some sippy cups in the past. I guess now I'm going to have to watch out for plates too. There were a total of NINE plates in the garbage tonight and 1 sippy cup. Argh.....

All in the name of FUN!

I don't know why, but it seems that 15 minutes of fun (in this case decorating cookies), always leads to at least 30 minutes of clean up.

This picture really doesn't do the mess justice. I should have taken a picture of the floor, and of course, the counters (where the cookies were mixed and rolled out in the first place).

Oh, but they had fun, so it was all worth it. Plus I guess Ashlyn HAS been asking to make sugars cookies for the past...um...I don't know....3 months, so this was LONG over due.

This picture is just for fun because I thought it was so cute. The girls decided to have a "camp out" and set this all up for their dolls, complete with personalized invitations on each pillow.

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

I found this recipe when I linked from a friends food blog, to this food blog. The picture of it looked so yummy,  I couldn't wait until Sunday to make it for dinner. It did not disappoint. It was delicious. Just click on the title of the recipe and it will link you to the site. I used lowfat cheese and lowfat sour cream, and I squeezed fresh lime on top before serving.

Discount Circus Tickets

                          

Last year Paul and I took the kids to the circus at the Staples Center and had a FANTASTIC time. This year, we would love to go, but will be in Utah while it is here. Any ideas?

I need help here. I don't know what the heck this little fruit is? Does anyone have any idea? When we moved in, we found lots of little peach type pits all around the bottom of this tree, so I thought it was going to be a peach or apricot tree or something like that. But these don't look like anything in the peach family to me. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. I'm dying, trying figure this out. They kind of look like apples, but hm???? I just don't know. Maybe I'll have to wait and find out. The weird thing is that these are the only two I can find on the whole tree. 

Playing at the park with Pop

Yesterday was such a beautiful day to be at the park. We were surprised to find almost no one else there. The kids had a blast running around and being silly. And I think Pop and Beth had a pretty good time too.

Gymnastics

See that blur of a little body? That's my Leah being bounced on the trampoline. She goes to Gymnastics Day Camp once a week and plays hard for three solid hours. Her first words when I pick her up are always, "Mommy, I missed you, but I had SO much fun". Such a doll. And this is the greatest gym. They have SO much to do there and it's always clean and the staff is just awesome.

Since Brandon was born, a lot of my family have said that they thought he looked like my Dad. I didn't have any pictures of my Dad as a baby, so I always had a hard time "seeing" it. Well, tonight I finally got one.

I was surprised how much I do think they look alike. What do you think?

Local Freebie

I'm getting rid of these. They just don't really go with my new kitchen. They are in perfectly good condition though, so I thought if someone out there (who lives local. I'm not shipping them) wants them, than that would be better than taking them to goodwill. So if you would like these red canisters (they're ceramic not plastic), leave me a comment. If there is more than one person, I will draw a name out of a hat. If no one wants them, that's fine too. I'll just take them to goodwill. 

Chilaxin'

One foot hanging, the other foot propped up. Staring off into space. This is what my brother would call "chilaxin". It's pure contentment.
