Chef Leah

Leah LOVE LOVE LOVES to help me in the kitchen. On Saturday when I came home from a nice and relaxing reflexology foot massage, she was ready to go with apron and hat. Her culinary request? Cookies of course.

And for her "part" in our upcoming Primary Program Sacrament Presentation she had to draw a picture of some way she can serve others. So of course, she drew herself helping me in the kitchen. Then she told me we were making hamburgers and cookies for the family. Ha. Don't know where she got the hamburgers bit from, but I thought it was cute. Way to go Leah. You are a girl after my own heart!

And the cookies turned out quite delicious. So much so, that they are gone. Oops!

Disney in the rain

Yes, I braved Disneyland one more time. This time some friends could come, so that made it much better. Bad thing was, it was raining. Like really raining (by CA standards that is), but definitely more than a drizzle. I was pretty hesitant at first. But there we were, standing in the bathroom at the bottom of the parking lot and Tina basically gave me no choice (I have to admit, I was contemplating getting back in my car and going home). But no, that wasn't really going to happen. It was over an hour drive after all. And the kids were already excited. So we waited a few minutes for the heavy rain to lift and then took off for the tram. Once inside Disney, we bought some over priced ponchos and an extra umbrella each and headed off for some rides.

"Buzz Lightyear" topped the list as usual. As well as "It's a Small World", "Jungle Cruise", and "Winnie the Pooh". We also watched "The tiki room show" that Becky was very insistent on us all seeing. It was cute, but it was also the last "ride" of the day and by then I have to admit, I was pretty darn tired. The park closed at 6, so we had no choice but to leave. The kids were all hungry, so we stopped at McDonald's. And I don't know how, but those crazy kids still had PLENTY of energy to run around the playground equipment. But with three out of the four adults being pregnant, I think we were just ready to head home. It was still a fun day, despite the rain. And I'm glad I went. Especially since it will most likely be my last trip for at least a couple of years (when little man is at least 2 or so). But I am very grateful we live so close to Disney and that our kids can grow up enjoying the magic of it all. It really is such a fun place to be (would be more so if Paul could ever come with us, but oh well. There's always next time right?)

Here's Tina attempting to keep her and Ashlynn dry.

Take a look at Brandon's pant legs. This was only upon ENTERING the park. We still had much more rain to absorb. By the end of the day, all of us were pretty darn wet. Even with ponchos and umbrellas. It was hard to avoid.

See the people in line behind us. They were the smart ones....they were LEAVING the park. Haha...Actually, it made for some very short lines for us, which was totally awesome and so much easier on me, since long lines is when Brandon gets restless.

But look how much fun we had. Doesn't that face make you believe it was all worth it? Love ya girl!

And Brandon couldn't be more excited to have that gun in his hand. He was raring and ready to go. Now just to work on his aim and he'll be one tough guy.

See, no lines. AMAZING huh! Totally worth getting wet for, right?

What a trooper. Soaking wet with his jacket on and still up for a smile.

We had a good group this time. Four adults and nine kids. We got our very own cart on "It's a Small World". Lucky us!

Seriously, how can you not have fun with a friend who is always smiling like this?

We were even able to talk the kids into getting on the "Haunted Mansion". It's the best time of year to ride this ride. All decked out in Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas". I love it!

Go Dodgers!

Wait, did I say that? Ok, really I could have cared less about the game, which the Dodger's did lose. I watched a few minutes here and there. Really I went for the friends, food and laughs. And there was plenty of that. Thanks for the fun night ladies. I'm glad I can say I FINALLY saw a Dodger's game and had a Dodger Dog (although it really just tasted like a normal ole' hot dog to me). Paul's next mission. To see the Lakers play at the Staples Center. Then he will feel complete. Haha....

This is me and my SIL Heather. We ran into each other at the mall that morning. She had found a Dodger shirt at Motherhood Maternity. So I had to get one too so we could match and take a photo of our growing bellies. Probably won't wear that shirt ever again. Except maybe as a jammie shirt to sleep in.

I don't know how we got so "separate" looking from the rest of the group. Maybe I think my belly is bigger than it is, so I had to stand back.

This shot would have been cuter if I wasn't half a foot taller than Heather. Oh well, gotta get a few belly shots before this baby comes. Something tells me neither one of us will ever have a belly like this again.

Had to get a shot of the guys. I think they were into the game just a "TINY" bit more than we were. (And yes, eventually we did un-segregate and go sit by our husbands. We're nice like that.)

And to prove I was really there.....a shot of the field.

Why it's important

Leah was drawing a picture in her little notepad on the way to school yesterday. When she finished she told me all about it.

This is a picture of me and Paul. We are holding hands and kissing each other. In the picture we are going on a date. Because we love each other, she said.

So see, we should never feel guilty for leaving our kids with a sitter to go on a date with our spouse. I'm glad Leah knows that her mommy and daddy love each other. I think that's important.
