You're never gonna believe it

Ok, well, at least I'm having a hard time believing it. 

I just got back from little B's 4 month well baby check up and here are his stats.

Weight- 14 lbs. 15 oz. 

Head Circumference- 42 cm

Height- 24 1/2 inches (35th %)

 

The unbelievable part is that his head and weight are only in the 50th percentile. How is that possible? Even the doctor walked in and first commented on how big his head looked, which I took no offense to because I say the same thing all the time. What we figured is that his head is just misshapen due to the fact that he sleeps on his back.  Hopefully it will round out as time goes, or at least maybe his hair will cover it. 

I'm still in shock! 

Hard to believe....

That these two cuties are only three weeks apart. At least Brandon is the older one.

Busy Week

It's been an exciting week around our household. On Monday, Grammy came into town. On Tuesday we had a Birthday Party for Ashlyn at a local park. On Wednesday, Ashlyn turned the BIG 5! And on Thursday, Ashlyn started Kindergarten. I can't believe it. She did so well and was so excited.


Grammy hand knit these beautiful Princess hats for the girls. I wish you could see them up close. They really are amazing. I would have never guessed that they were handmade.


Well, at least Grammy is smiling.


We had pizza, water games, a Giselle Pinata and (per Ashlyn's request) sugar cookies decorated to look like little birthday cakes.


Here are two of Ashlyn's favorite little buddies. They are so cute playing together.


Gotta show off the new backpack. It's a Tinkerbell backpack and Ashlyn just loves it. Doesn't she look so grown up. Aw...... I just love this girl!


And off she goes. There's her teacher in the front. Paul and I want to buy one of those homes up on the hill. Don't they look nice (even from the back). I think it's a pipe dream though.


And, of course, my little Leah. She's so cute. She's been a good girl this week. She did so well with all the attention Ashlyn has been getting with her birthday and school and such. She even got Ashlyn two new Hello Kitty pens as a birthday gift, and I think she was more excited to give them to Ashlyn, than Ashlyn was to receive them. She may be a little hard to deal with at times, but she sure has a sweet little heart. Look at that smile. Just melts my heart.

Two dollars and forty-eight cents

Is the exact amount you need to get yourself one of these scrumptious desserts. I know this because I have been frequenting McDonald's quite a bit this summer with the express purpose of purchasing this tasty treat. So much so that Paul asked me today if I was pregnant. HA..... To that I said a resounding NO!!!! (Don't even joke about such things.)

And then he found the magic moving colors box. (Don't worry, it was a church cartoon. Of course I guess I can't say that's the only thing on our TV on Sundays.)

After reading all the comments on swaddling babies, I have realized that it's not all that uncommon to continue to swaddle your baby past a few months of age. And since Brandon seems to like it better and sleep better, why not continue? I'll just get myself a bigger blanket. Thanks for the comments. Both my girls gave up being swaddled after just a month or two, so I guess I just thought it was weird that Brandon still liked it. 

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, you realize you most definitely DON'T! Why do kids have to be so different? HA HA... I guess it keeps life interesting huh?

Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus

There is a reason they call it "The Greatest Show on Earth". It really is a cool show. I think me and Paul enjoyed it more than the girls. Although the girls did have a fun time. I think they particularly liked the cotton candy, which by the way, cost us $10.00. Sheesh! Oh well, it was worth it. Brandon even seemed to like all the entertainment and was such a good boy through the whole thing. I was quite impressed. (The few pictures I have are kind of lame. I took them at the beginning of the show and then my battery died.  So sad.)
