For the memory book

Today as the girls are eating lunch Ashlyn tells me that I need to water the grass. I said, "yeah, I'll do it tonight". She responds, "yeah, cuz everyone needs a drink of water before bedtime". Too cute!

This is for you Shay. 

On Mother's Day we went over to my brother's house for dinner. One of the items on the endless menu that day, were refried beans. Shay suggested I give some to Brandon. Well, as you can see, the boy LOVED them. He probably ate at least a 1/2 cup or more, which for a 12 month old, is A LOT of refried beans. He was a mess afterwards, but he sure had fun.

And yes, Shay, he had some interesting diapers the next day. No tummy ache, just some interesting diapers. I'm not sure I'll be able to eat refried beans again. HA....

As I am finishing typing and publishing this post, my little Brandon is in the food cupboard. And what does he bring me....a can of refried beans. How appropriate. Signing off....

Spaghetti face

Every toddler needs a picture of themselves after eating Spaghetti right? And this was taken right before clean up. Notice he is sitting at the edge of the sink. Yeah, too messy to simply wipe down at his highchair. He needed the spray nozzle on the faucet to get this face and body clean. 

That little Turkey

I'm use to Brandon throwing his sippy cups away. He's been doing that for a while. He knows he's not suppose to, but I think he thinks it's fun or something. But today I was on the phone for less than five minutes and when I turn around he has two plates in his hands. I promptly get a firm voice and say, NO Brandon, don't you dare....to which he responds by scurring as fast as he can over to the garbage to throw his plates away. That little turkey. I try to keep an eye out cuz I know he's sneaky. And I've definitely lost some sippy cups in the past. I guess now I'm going to have to watch out for plates too. There were a total of NINE plates in the garbage tonight and 1 sippy cup. Argh.....

All in the name of FUN!

I don't know why, but it seems that 15 minutes of fun (in this case decorating cookies), always leads to at least 30 minutes of clean up.

This picture really doesn't do the mess justice. I should have taken a picture of the floor, and of course, the counters (where the cookies were mixed and rolled out in the first place).

Oh, but they had fun, so it was all worth it. Plus I guess Ashlyn HAS been asking to make sugars cookies for the past...um...I don't know....3 months, so this was LONG over due.

This picture is just for fun because I thought it was so cute. The girls decided to have a "camp out" and set this all up for their dolls, complete with personalized invitations on each pillow.

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

I found this recipe when I linked from a friends food blog, to this food blog. The picture of it looked so yummy,  I couldn't wait until Sunday to make it for dinner. It did not disappoint. It was delicious. Just click on the title of the recipe and it will link you to the site. I used lowfat cheese and lowfat sour cream, and I squeezed fresh lime on top before serving.
