Now I understand

Once Brandon has finished eating his food, he immediately begins to throw the leftovers all onto the ground. Honestly, it drives me a little bonkers because I feel like I'm constantly picking up sticky food and cleaning the floor. The other day though, I got distracted with the girls and didn't clean up the floor right away. So not ten minutes later, I see him down under his highchair "finishing" up his lunch. Ah...so this must have been his plan all along. Perhaps he hasn't been doing this to bug me, but to save himself a little snack for later. He's probably been bugged with me for cleaning it up so quickly.

But incase you are wondering, I will not be leaving his food on the floor for him to come eat later. That's kind of gross. But I did think it was funny enough to take a snapshot of.

Impromptu Morning

We started out the morning with some visiting teaching at a local park with some friends, and ended up heading to Subway for lunch, and then to storytime at the library. Not a bad morning I would say. I think the kids all had a lot of fun too. Now if I could only get a nap.

They do such a good job with storytime. They read stories, sing songs and dance around, do puppets, play parachute, and always have a fun little craft at the end. I'm glad my friend reminded me of it today because every few months they go on a month long hiatus and today was the last storytime until September.

Good times had by all

We had a great trip to Utah. Did lots of things (Utah is VERY kid friendly), saw friends, hung out with family and even squeezed in a few date nights together. It went by all too fast and here were are Monday and back into the daily grind of life. Paul's back at work and I'm still trying to unpack and get the house back in order. We can't wait for our next trip. Here are some pictures.

Family Fun Center in Sandy close to where my mom lives. It was kind of ghetto (for Utah that is), but the kids had a blast and didn't know the difference.

Temple Open house. It was so beautiful inside. So glad we got the chance to go. I think the girls really enjoyed it. I'm hoping they'll remember it (even if it's only a little bit).

Gardner's Village. I love this place. So many cute shops including a doll shop the girls simply fell in love with. Here they are on the pony ride.

Me and Leah on the (ski) chair lift site seeing ride in Park City. Had NO idea when we got on that it was a 45 minute ride. Good thing we didn't take Brandon.

Visiting Renee at her beautiful HUGE home in Park City. It was SO good to see her and let the kids play.

Paul's parents happen to be in town the same time so we got to meet up with them a few times.
We did the Temple Square tour on Sunday afternoon. It was a lot of fun. The kids were really good too despite the hour long tour at the Conference Center.

And I know just about EVERYONE tells me that NONE of my children look alike, but I do think Brandon and Leah look quite a bit alike in this picture. Maybe it's because they have hats on. Doesn't matter. They're all stinking cuties.

This about sums it up

We have had a busy (super fun filled) 2nd week off from school. And on Friday afternoon, we all crashed.

(Leah slept like this on the couch for over an hour. Doesn't she look so big? I can't get over how old she is getting.)

I think I have decided that while having a baby in the spring is great for being pregnant, it doesn't make for a very fun filled summer. This summer is going to be much much better.

Here are a few highlights from the week.

*Swim lessons every morning.

*Dinner and FHE with friends.

*Swimming at the pool with more friends.

*My mom driving into town (and getting food poisoning.)

*A trip to the zoo with other friends.

*Gymnastics daycamp for the girls.

*Visiting teaching

*A birthday party

*Watching Paul play in his championship basketball game. They lost, but we celebrated anyway with some yummy Yogurberry.

*Ward playgroup.

*A double date with some new friends(ate WAY too much, but it was fun).

*A trip to the mall (I got two shirts for $8.00 each).

*And finally, a wedding for a dear friend of my mom.

Whew.....Now off to Utah on Thursday. Wish me luck with the drive. At least Paul is coming with me this time.

Oh my poor little baby!

I know this picture isn't very good. It was taken with our phone and Brandon kept moving around, but can you see that HUGE bump on his head? Oh, how my heart hurts to look at it. He whacked it pretty hard on our wood floor this evening RIGHT before we were about to start FHE with our wonderful friends, the Waldron's (who we have been trying to get together with forever). It was SO sad.

A little motrin though and some snuggles with Daddy and he was up and running (thankfully) in just about 15 minutes. And we got to still have our FHE.

Lasting Impressions

I've had the wonderful chance to volunteer in Ashlyn's class this past year in kindergarten. Part of the great thing about it was that I not only got to be in her class and get to know her friends and teacher, I also got to know a few of the mom's of Ashlyn's classmates. One of them (Julie), that I worked with just about every week, has a business called "Lasting Impressions" and makes the most adorable hand and foot print keepsakes. For Mother's Day, Julie and Ashlyn's teacher worked out a way to have a handprint made of every child in the class to give to their mom's as a gift. Such a cute idea, right? When I got mine, I knew I had to get more. So I arranged with Julie to meet her at her house to have some done of my kids. And I just LOVE the way they turned out. So far, I have only had two made, but I know I will go back and get more. If you're interested (and you live around here), let me know and I'll get you Julie's phone number.

This is for you POP (my Dad) for Father's Day. I know it should already be in the mail, but don't worry, it's coming. I LOVE YOU and so do your "grandbabies"! Thanks for the fun visit last month. Come back soon!

I had to get one with Brandon's little foot before it got too big to be "cute" as an imprint. This will go on his bedroom wall as a keepsake.
