Don't we all have a double out there somewhere?

I know I've seen this picture before, so if you are the one that originally showed it to me, let me know, cuz I can't remember. Anyway, Paul's parents sent this to us. Now I don't have to worry about putting Ashlyn in the "Hollywood" scene. Her double is already in it (and with more hair. I hope this is what I have to look forward to in the future. This little girls hair is beautiful.)

Prophetic Passing

My aunt sent this to me. I really liked it and wanted to share.


I imagine he's running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, "Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance,
I welcome you now my noble, most excellent son."

I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception's just fine,
But he hopes that he'll get an assignment or two
Since there's no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sweet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward, there's work to be done.

Messy but worth it

Okay, so the girls made a total mess in the living room with those packing peanuts, but it was COMPLETELY worth it.





Look what I got in the mail today. HOORAY!!!! My new plates. I love them. Don't you just love them? (Alright, you don't have to love them. Just don't tell me.) I've been looking for the perfect dinner set for so long and I found these when we were in Iowa (go figure). I just got them in the mail today and was so excited to get them out of the dishwasher that I got a steam facial opening it up and then burnt my hand trying to pull them out while they were still drying. Oh well. I also got a deviled egg tray and another serving bowl. I'll have to complete the rest of the set as I go along though. They have a really cool pitcher I want, but couldn't justify, since I just bought myself a new white pitcher a few months ago.

Randomness cont...

Can you tell there is something missing in this picture? That's right...I cut off the little flip (rat tail) on the back of Leah's hair. I know it was cute and all, but I think it looks better this way and now it can grow out evenly. I even think it makes her look a bit older.



Is this a picture of wonderful children being helpful in the kitchen? Or the making of an early Cinderella type story? You decide.

Enchanted

Have you noticed that my girls are a little "girlie"? Well, their latest love is the "Enchanted" movie. We listen to the music at home, we listen to it in the car, and we sing it all the time. Or at least Ashlyn does. She knows a lot of the words to most of the songs. Paul downloaded a music video of the "Ever Ever After" song, sung by Carrie Underwood. When we put it on, this is what happens. Instant glue. They could watch it over and over. Even if the music video isn't on, they will still stare at the computer screen just listening to the music because the cover art for the CD comes up. Silly girls. I love 'em. I'm sure we'll be in line to buy the DVD the first day it comes out.

Snow pictures

Leah HATED getting dressed to go outside. She fought us everyday. The ONLY thing she willingly put on was this pink hat.


Me and Leah outside. It was so cold, we didn't last long. Especially since Leah wouldn't put a coat on. It's a good thing we live in CA. I have a hard enough time getting her to put her shoes on these days.

Christmas Pictures

Leah got a new tricycle from Grandma and Grandpa Briggs.


This HUGE rat came from my brother, Tyler. Leah loves it though. It's like a big bean bag.


Ashlyn on her new scooter. The girl couldn't be happier.


This was all too overwhelming for the girls. When they first came downstairs, they both just stood there for almost 5 minutes before they approached their gifts. Maybe they were trying to soak it all in first.
