Carter turned FIVE…oh and it's Halloween too

What a busy day Halloween is now. 

Carter was a little sad he wasn't having a party with his friends, so I need to step it up one of these years and actually have a legit party for him. Darn Halloween is always in the way. Or maybe I'm just not too good at planning that many activities for one day. It's overwhelming. We still try to always make it special for him though. 

He started out the day opening some presents.

Money was probably his favorite thing.

After presents, we rushed over to his soccer game where he played a great game and scored a couple of goals.

Then straight to Chuck E. Cheese with the family to play some games and win some tickets. And tickets he DID win. He hit multiple jackpots and ended up with over 1,000 tickets. Not bad for only being there for an hour and a half.

Then we headed over to Brandon's soccer game, where we were short players and were going to have to forfeit. But Carter, who had been practicing (for fun) with the team during the week, got to sub in as a big kid and played on Brandon's team with him. He was excited but actually ended up being pretty nervous, especially when they put him in as goalie. Those kids all the sudden seemed really big and he got scored on twice.They still won and he still had fun so it was all good.

Then per Carter's request we headed to Cafe Rio for lunch. Four flour tortillas later and his belly was finally full.

Brandon got kicked in the hand at the end of the game pretty bad while he was playing goalie. I was pretty mad because the kid just kept kicking at the ball even after Brandon obviously had it in his arms. He cried pretty hard about it and ended up with a pretty bad bruise that lasted for almost a week. What made me most upset was that who ever kicked him, never came over to apologize! UgH!!!

That night of course was dinner at the Osmond's and trick or treating. Becky always goes all out and has fun games for the kids to play and we have festive food.

The kids all came back with LOTS and LOTS of candy and then we watched the 1st Harry Potter while everyone examined their loot. One of these years we'll actually make it to the end of the movie. But so far, the kids just can't last that long. It was a super fun day though and we were all exhausted by the time we got home and were ready for bed.
