I've been waiting all week

To put him in this adorable outfit for church!

And then he found the magic moving colors box. (Don't worry, it was a church cartoon. Of course I guess I can't say that's the only thing on our TV on Sundays.)

Thanks for the comments

After reading all the comments on swaddling babies, I have realized that it's not all that uncommon to continue to swaddle your baby past a few months of age. And since Brandon seems to like it better and sleep better, why not continue? I'll just get myself a bigger blanket. Thanks for the comments. Both my girls gave up being swaddled after just a month or two, so I guess I just thought it was weird that Brandon still liked it.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, you realize you most definitely DON'T! Why do kids have to be so different? HA HA... I guess it keeps life interesting huh?

Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus

There is a reason they call it "The Greatest Show on Earth". It really is a cool show. I think me and Paul enjoyed it more than the girls. Although the girls did have a fun time. I think they particularly liked the cotton candy, which by the way, cost us $10.00. Sheesh! Oh well, it was worth it. Brandon even seemed to like all the entertainment and was such a good boy through the whole thing. I was quite impressed. (The few pictures I have are kind of lame. I took them at the beginning of the show and then my battery died.  So sad.)

HE Laughed

He laughed. He laughed. He really laughed. I even have Paul as my witness. I SO totally forgive him for keeping me up last night!

Curse the "Miracle Blanket"

So, I completely loved this thing until a few nights ago. It swaddles your baby just perfectly and Brandon has loved it from the beginning. But now that he is almost three months old, I am finding it is time to not swaddle him every night. He's growing out of the blanket and it just seems too restricting to me. But here is the problem. The poor boy has never slept with his arms free. So what happens when you try to put him down with his arms free and moveable? HE WAKES BACK UP!!!! ARGH!!! It took me almost an hour to get the kid to stay asleep last night and then he woke up THREE TIMES! He's killing me. It's like starting over again with a newborn. But I gotta do it eventually right? I mean, really, he's getting too big for the thing. His legs can't completely stretch out when he's in it. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Just had to vent.

Swim Lessons

When is it gonna be my turn? I'm waiting so patiently.

Around here lately

Ashlyn wanted to go on a picnic last Saturday, but it was just too darn hot for us, so we improvised. I think the girls still had fun. They thought it was the coolest thing to eat on a blanket in the living room.

Ashlyn's last day of Summer Camp was today. She attended twice a week for 4 weeks and came home everyday with at least 2 art projects (and sometimes as many as 4 or 5). One of her little friends from church happened to be in her camp too, so that only added to her joy. Now off to Kindergarten! Hooray!

This is what Daddy looks like as he "tries" to eat his dinner every night. At least he will NEVER doubt that his daughters love him!

And of course, our featured star. Little Brandon. He's 12 pounds 11 ounces and growing. He's smiling more and more everyday and has been a "talker" since about 6 weeks (even before I saw his first "real" smile). He seems to be a shy little guy and will often smile and then turn his head to the side in a bashful sort of fashion. He's a good little baby though. Only really cries when he's hungry or tired (although if you've seen him at church you might disagree). He loves to stare at Ashlyn (she's so sweet to him and I think he must like her red hair) and he tenses up and braces himself whenever Leah gets near (although she is learning to be more gentle).
